Kembali ke hari ultah 5 hari lalu, tengah malam, seorang teman mengirimkan MMS ke gue, yg isinya gambar bikinan dia sendiri, wishes, dan lain2nya. Sayangnya MMS-nya ga nyampe2 karena sinyal di kamar gue terutama jelek banget. Dia sempet gregetan, dia pengen MMS-nya nyampe, tp delivery report ga datang2. Akhirnya.. gue keluar kamar, dan setelah bersabar hampir 1 jam, baru lah ketiga MMS dari dia yg berisi 3 wishes, 3 gambar, dan 3 wejangan lainnya.. nyampe.

Wishes-nya.. well.. she wished for exactly something I really need, and want. And I was touched by the fact she knew it very well.

Tapi terlebih dari itu, sepanjang gue terbangun sampai pagi, gue telah menerima lebih dari 20 MMS yg masuk ke hape gue. Isinya adalah 3 wishes, 3 gambar, dan 3 wejangan itu tadi. Berulang-ulang. Berulang-ulang. Sampe gue bangun paginya, MMS itu masih datang, datang.

Setelah gue hitung2.. 21 MMS?? Are you kidding me? I was speechless.

Now to think about it, it was really something. Maybe she intended to present me the 3 wishes and 3 pictures, but the real gift for me is the 21 MMS-es. Now you know, when a (best) friend really cares about you, she sends you 3 MMS-es 21 times.

Menurut Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan "Kata depan di, ke, dan dari ditulis terpisah dari kata yang mengikutinya kecuali di dalam gabungan kata yang sudah lazim dianggap sebagai satu kata seperti kepada dan daripada."

Untuk menghubungkan dua klausa tidak sederajat, bahasa Indonesia tidak mengenal bentuk "di mana" atau "dimana" (padanan dalam bahasa Inggris adalah "who", "whom", "which", atau "where") atau variasinya ("dalam mana", "dengan mana", "yang mana", dan sebagainya)[1]. Penggunaan "dimana" atau "di mana" sebagai kata penghubung sangat sering terjadi pada penerjemahan naskah dari bahasa-bahasa Indo-Eropa ke bahasa Indonesia. Pada dasarnya, bahasa Indonesia hanya mengenal kata "yang" sebagai kata penghubung untuk kepentingan itu, dan penggunaannya pun terbatas. Dengan demikian, HINDARI PENGGUNAAN BENTUK "DI MANA" DAN "DIMANA"[1], termasuk dalam penulisan keterangan rumus matematika. Kaidah tata bahasa Indonesia memiliki kosa kata yang cukup untuk menterjemahkan "who", "where", "which", "whom" tanpa menggunakan kata "di mana" atau "dimana". Contoh-contoh:

  • Dari artikel Kantin: Kantin adalah sebuah ruangan dalam sebuah gedung umum di mana para pengunjung dapat makan.
    • Usul perbaikan: Kantin adalah sebuah ruangan di dalam sebuah gedung umum yang dapat digunakan (oleh) pengunjungnya untuk makan.

    • Usul perbaikan (rubah struktur kalimat): Jika
F = gaya (newton) dan
L = panjang (m),

maka tegangan permukaan S dapat ditulis sebagai S = F / L.

  • Dari kalimat bahasa Inggris: Land which is to be planted only with rice.
    • Usul terjemahan: Lahan yang akan ditanami padi saja.
  • Sebuah kalimat bahasa Indonesia: Ia kembali ke Jakarta, di mana ia dilahirkan (yang bila diterjemahkan ke bahasa Inggris secara tata bahasa benar)
    • Usul perbaikan: Ia kembali ke Jakarta, tempat ia dilahirkan

Kekisruhan ini mungkin disebabkan pengaruh oleh Ejaan Soewandi (1947) yang mengharuskan penulisan diserangkai dengan kata yang mengikutinya, baik sebagai kata depan maupun sebagai awalan.


Di mana

Penggunaan "di mana" (selalu ditulis terpisah) yang betul adalah pada kalimat tanya, misalnya: "Di mana buku saya?"[1]

SE's screen is one of the best, but SE's light sensor is known for its bad behavior. Mostly, can't be turned off, resulting the screens appear dimmer in most environments. Does X10 suffer the same problem?

Deputy Pope: 'There is a Relationship Between Homosexuality and Pedophilia. That is True. That is the Problem.'

The Vatican is peddling lies again about homosexuality and pedophilia in an effort to deflect blame from the Catholic Church for its child sexual abuse epidemic. This time the falsehoods are coming from Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, also called the Deputy Pope.

Said Bertone at a news conference in Santiago, Chile: "Many psychologists and psychiatrists have shown that there is no link between celibacy and pedophilia but many others have shown, I have recently been told, that there is a relationship between homosexuality and pedophilia...This pathology is one that touches all categories of people, and priests to a lesser degree in percentage terms. The behavior of the priests in this case, the negative behavior, is very serious, is scandalous."

Here's the AP version of the quote: "Many psychologists and psychiatrists have demonstrated that there is no relation between celibacy and pedophilia. But many others have demonstrated, I have been told recently, that there is a relation between homosexuality and pedophilia. That is true. That is the problem."
